• Indian captain changes a day before Test match against England.
  • The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BOARD of India) appointed Jasprit Bhamra as the new captain of the Indian team. Rohit Sharma, the team's permanent captain, has been dropped from the match due to a positive come-from-off. Jasprit Bhamrah is the first fast bowler to captain the Indian team after Kapil Dev.


  • Rohit Sharma was re-tested before the match against England which has once again come positive after which the selection committee has appointed Bhamrah as captain while Rishabh Pant as vice-captain, bcci said on Thursday when Jasprit Bhamra was appointed as captain. 

  • Rishabh Pant was also recently commanded by the team in the T20 series against South Africa. Bhamra will be the 36th captain of the Indian Test team. It should be noted that Jasprit Bhamrah has taken 123 wickets in 29 Tests while 113 and 57 T20Is in 70 ODIs.

  • The captain of the Indian cricket team has been replaced ahead of the final Test of last year's incomplete series against England. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was handed the leadership of the team in place of Rohit Sharma.
  • Jaspreet Bumrah will lead the Indian team in the Edgbaston Test against England.
  •  It is to be noted that the fast bowler has been made the captain in place of Rohit Sharma. Rohit has been infected with Corona virus. It is believed that this test between India and England will start from Friday. India has a 1-2 lead in the series. It should be noted that there were 4 matches between the two teams before the T20 World Cup last year, however, the tour was canceled after cases of corona virus were reported in the Indian team. The two teams will now face each other in Edgbaston to play the last match of the series and end it. England are determined to win the match and level the series while the Indian team is determined to win.
